    Default Pumping while nursing

Can anyone give me some good tips for pumping while nursing?

    Special pillows?

    Positions?

    What works for you?

I'm trying to do it and finding it rather frustrating.

    Thanks!

Well, you've probably already tried these but it only worked for me if I nursed in the football hold on a nursing pillow. Then the pillow did the work of holding LOs head up so I had more hands to fiddle with the pump. I also held the pump bottle sort of diagonally out - imagine putting it on the boob and then turning it like a dial about 30 degrees so that the bottle itself is angled away from your body. It will give LO a little more room (important if you have a squirmer). Good luck!

Thanks! I do have a squirmer... I am not very good at the football hold, but will try it again. I have sort of tried "turning" the bottle while pumping, but maybe combined with the football hold, that will work. Good ideas!

I use to put her in a semi-sitting postion and use a sports bra with cut holes to put the pump through and therefore not need to hold it. It worked well until she started kicking the pump
