    Default Silly girl...

Now that DD has discovered the pleasures of table foods she will not eat anything off of a spoon. She used to LOVE yougurt and now won't touch the stuff. I guess she just enjoys the independence?

Just curious if any other mamas have gone through the same thing..

    DD is almost 9 mo.

Yup. My DD never (well, hardly ever) took anything off a spoon. Sometimes it would help to give her a couple of spoons to play with, one for each hand, and then fill her mouth with a third spoon. Or you can just giver her a yogurt-covered spoon and let her try to get it into her own mouth. Determined self-feeders are a challenge!

We did BLS so we never spoon fed anything ever. The way we dealt with yogurt was to give him toast crusts and let him use to dip with. We did the same thing with applesauce in the beginning. That way they are getting to contol thier intake of it without having to be able to use a utensil.

awww..that makes sense. I am so afraid of giving DD anything bigger than pea size chunks...did you all always do strips of food?

Yes. French fry shaped foods. That way they can get their hands around them and get them in their mouths but if they actually swallow rather than push back out(usually at this age they are comfortable chewing and tasting but not actually swallowing) it would be small enough to not block their airway. HTH!
