    Default who has 'caries'??

i have read alot of different things about night nursing and caries...im wondering where the statistics come from....ive certainly never been asked and it seems to me in general its hard to find a pediatric dentist (without shopping around) whose advice isnt to just wean....the pediatricians (although getting better) seem to have no clue either...

so...im wondering, out of all you night nursers out there.....how many are going through issues with your lo's teeth???

I've voted "no and we night nurse" but I would like to have also voted "no and we don't night nurse" as I'm tandem nursing and only the younger still nurses at night. But I can't vote twice.

Voted yes and we night nurse...

Although a few weeks ago ds had oral surgery to repair his 4 cavities (just after he turned two). So technically now we don't have cavities anymore but still...

We are beginning to work on nightweaning following Dr. Jay Gordon method (tonight will be the third night). So far, that is going remarkably well - only a few minutes of fussing in the middle of the night.

Still nurse to sleep and 1-3 times in the day.

Can I ask how you guys know? The people who voted yes, aren't your kids younger than mine? I am being told by my Pedi and my Dentist that he doesn't need to see the denstist until he's 3??? And I honestly can't imagine him at the dentist since he won't even let the Pedi look in his mouth with a tongue depressor???

It started as a discoloration on DS's teeth. One day I decided to run my fingernail across them & the are pitted. It's at the very top where the teeth meet the gums on his front 2 top teeth. On the 2 next to the front it's still just a discoloration, but more at the bottom of the teeth.

So you haven't actually taken him to see a dentist?

I voted no and we night nurse. I night nursed my DD until 10 mo, DS1 until 6 mo and DS2 until 18 mo. None have any issues to speak of (with regard to caries of this nature).

And said that's what they are? Has Ian been expressing discomfort or pain in regards to them? Don't cavities hurt?
