My 20-month-old daughter has been gradually decreasing the nursing sessions. We're down to just nursing at night (bedtime and a couple of times before morning) and at naptime unless I'm working. It has been going well, and I am still enjoying it most of the time.
I had been using a progestin-only pill, but since my periods started again a few months ago they have been very unpredictable, and the last one lasted for two weeks. So, I decided to change to a combination pill, thinking that it would be ok if my supply decreases, since we are gradually weaning anyway. I started the new pill yesterday morning, and last night I had noticeably less milk. I felt really bad when my daughter nursed, then asked "more, Mommy, switch sides, more!" I was able to distract her, but now I am questioning whether this is too dramatic a move, whether I should switch back before it is too late, or whether to give her a few days to adjust. Any advice?
