Default When to replace bottle w/ cup?

I pump for DD and was wodering....when do I switch from bottle to cup for feedings? She can drink out of a straw now with some success (of course some comes right back out). I am freaked out about the loss of milk that way. What is your experiences?

When she's ready. Sorry, that's not meant to sound smarta$$y.

DD2 (7.5 months) has been drinking water from a cup, with us holding it for her, for a few weeks now. I tried a sippy cup at first, but she didn't take to it as well as drinking from a regular cup. If you're afraid of wasting BM, which I would be, I'd give her some water and see how it goes.

Here's a pic of her drinking from a glass

Have you tried it w/out a straw? DD2 has never used one and we have few dribbles. Maybe just try it with something other than BM, like water, and see how it goes. Otherwise, I'd keep giving a bottle until you're more comfortable with her drinking.

i would try her with water first just to get used to it, then when she has mastered that you can go to milk

I'll try the cup at lunch tomorrow. She is doing better with the straw now. Does one just gradually replace bottles with milk in a cup at the same time she would normally drink milk?

She's 8 mo. and no she doesn't nurse at all (except for the occasional middle of the night asleep nursing). I tried the cup at breakfast and she loved the idea of drinking milk out of her cup. I still used the straw and she didn't dribble as much out. The main thing is I want to make sure she still gets the same amount of milk a day.

I am wondering the same thing. My LO has the sippy cup down! Can I start giving her the milk in the cup at the time she would usually get her bottle?? I have also started giving her the milk colder, so she will not fight for warm milk when we make the switch to cow.
    All I do is
But I could not be happier!!
