If she's 1 and sstill nursing, I would go right to cow's milk. But its not necessary, necessarily, if she's nursing. Its completely up to you.

Cow milk seems better choice than formula, try to offer her more solids, at one age they go through a growth spurt and their intake of solid food increases as well, they need more solids at this point...hth

I agree with the pps that she probably doesn't need any other milk/formula if she is nursing at least 3-4 times a day but she probably needs other solids. At age 1, they will probably need 3-5 solid meals a day which includes some protein, some starch and some fruits or veggies.

I just wanted to say too that when they are growing they will eat alot and then some days it will seam like they are living on air
    and thats ok..
look at what they are eating over a week to see if they are getting what they need.
My 4 year old drinks about 4 oz of cows milk in a day.
Some days she doesn't ask for it so I don't give it to her
she does eat cheese, meals with cheese and she loves yougart
but we just aren't big cows milk drinkers.
    Shes weaned.
So when the doctor tells you that child should be drinking x ammount of cows milk. That realy isn't the case.
And if your still nursing thats the best milk that todder can get!

I agree with the other post... don't worry to much if you are still nursing. increasing soilds may be a better option rather than adding more liquids. We just tried cows milk and she hates it. We mix it with Horizons organic vanilla and she takes about 4 ounces over the day, at the most. We mostly offer water at meal time because she sees us doing it, nothing more.
