    Exclamation DS not sleeping...

HELP My DS is almost 9 months old, and he still will not sleep through the night. I put him to sleep by nursing and place him in his bed, but a couple of hours later he wakes up and will not be satisfied til he is nursing and sleeping with us. I do not care about im sleeping with us. But it is the not sleeping that is bothering me. He will wake up from 3 times to 6 or 7 times. He will not take his pacifier and HAS to nurse on me to sleep. It is becoming a slight problem in that I work at night three nights a week, so when my hubby has him he does the same thing to him. And DH does not have any boobs!!! So any thoughts or ideas... THanks

I recommend the Sears' The Baby Sleep Book. In the meantime, this page on their website has a lot of great tips!

Has he started solids yet? One thing that worked really well for us is a bedtime routine of solids (with cereal), then bath, then nurse, then to bed (all right after one another). Ours actually started sleeping through the night with absolutely no coaxing with that routine.

Around that age my son did the same thing, except soon even being next to me he wasn't sleeping and we resorted to a modified CIO, I wish I had stuck it out though, I feel a lot of guilt about that even though I know I was at the end of my rope.

My son still doesn't sleep through the night consistently- he is usually up once a night , sometimes 2x .

I remember thinking I must have been doing something wrong and if I only did this or that he would sleep- now i am convinced it's just a phase that some babies seem to go through.

Babies go through that around that age. It will get better although sleeping through the night may not happen very soon. I think most babies cannot go all night without a feeding until they are 1.
