Default Pregnant and frequent nursing ok?

    Hi all!

I've just found out I'm PG again and I still can't believe it! It took us 2 years and 4 insemination cycles to conceive our DD#1 and now I'm PG right away and naturally! I'm sooooo happy but trying to be cautious.

I have a question though, my DD 15 months old is still BF on demand. In order to get my fertility back I stopped offering during the day and she didn't ask for either, she could go 11 hours without nursing (she is still nursing on demand and every 2 hours at night and I love it ) But recently, I don't know if it's related to my PGy or her teething or her having a cold but she's been asking to nurse more often during the day too. I'm a bit scared that if I nurse her too often I might have a miscarriage.

Can I nurse her as much as she wants now that I got my fertility back or this could cause hormonal changes and put the pregnancy in danger?

    Thanks a lot in advance!

    Lasbi

From what I understand it is completely safe to nurse during pregnancy as long as you don't have a history of preterm labor. I am sure some of the other experienced moms will offer up some good info or links to that. Congrats on the pregnancy!

There is a special pregnant and nursing forumn you might want to check out.

But, my DS is now 2 months and DD nursed during his entire pregnancy. As long as the pregnancy isnt high risk (some people advice against it when having multiples) or you have pre-term labor.

    Congratulations.

(this sounds a little crude - but my Midwife told me this - if its a good healthy pregnancy its actually pretty hard to do something to cause a miscarriage)

First of all, thanks a lot for your replies.

I posted the same threat in that forum but I only got 1 reply and thought may be I would get more responses here.

I've never had a miscarriage before and I'm hoping I'll never have one.

Chargermom, what your midwife told you is so good! She is totally right, I'm gonna think about that every time I'm scared. Thanks!!

    Thanks again!

The general rule that I have heard over and over is that if it's considered safe to DTD then nursing as much as baby wants is OK.

Chelsea, first of all, thanks a lot for your reply.

I'm not sure what DTD is. Is it BD (baby dancing)?
