    Default accidental success!

i am so thrilled! background info... my LO will be 7 weeks old tomorrow and we have been trying to wean off of it for the past 3 weeks. she would latch on for a couple min then break her latch, start fussing kicking hitting...just a mess! so bc i didnt want her frustrated with bf i would put the sheild back on and try later. well this afternoon as i was preparing to bf, i leaned over LO to get the sheild and she latched on beautifully! without any help from me, no struggling and without frustration she nursed for 10 min before breaking latch! accidenttal success!! then around dinner time we tried again with little success. at bedtime i, again, leaned over LO and she latched on beautifully for about 10 min without breaking latch. so i am thrilled and over joyed! we are headed in the right direction. woo hoo!!!

that's great! my lo and i went through that too. we had to do a few weeks of supplementing formula and using the nipple shield and once i quit being so stressed and just occasionallytried offering just the breast, we finally got it.

it is indeed very exciting. congrats!
