    Default my baby is painfully gassy

    every time i nurse, she swallows tons of air. i have her in a good position and no matter what, the air goes in. i don't know what to do. i do have very good milk supply and she is well fed and gaining weight. please any advice will help. i have read kellymom.com's articles on oversupply, latching, etc. still having issues.

    how old is baby?
    Sometimes it just takes them a while to get the hang of things.

    some babies are also just high needs babies.

    she is 7 weeks old and seems uncomfortable from the gas.

    awe very young yet...
    things are going to get beter as baby gets older!

    what are the poops like?

    if different positions aren't helping, have you checked out gripe water? or infant gas drops? Gripe water can be given when you notice gas pains, whereas infant gas drops are given with every feeding to prevent gas. That may ease the pain of your little one. Did you mention this to your pedi?

    Her poops are yellow, but sometimes in the morning, they are greenish. I have a feeling because I make a lot of milk and she probably gets only the foremilk and goes back to sleep. Today, her poo actually smelled for first time. It had that fart kind of smell. So we are going to the pedi just to check things. I think it has something to do with my nursing though.
