Actually it is the lactose in the yogurt(not the milk protein) that is predigested by the good bacteria that make the milk to ferment into yogurt, so yogurt can still cause trouble for milk sensitive kids.
Also there are many probiotics (active cultures) in the yogurt help the digestive tract in fighting with infection, ulcers and diarrhea .
