    Default Skin issues from milk

My 8 week old is becoming distracted during nursing (she plays "peek-a-boob") and when she pulls off, milk gets everywhere but in her mouth. I do clean her up but if she gets milk on her face she chaps almost immediately. I can sometimes prevent her from unlatching but what about the times I can't? What would you do to ease the irritation?

I would try lansinoh lanolin. It works really well on chapped skin, whether its your breasts or your baby's cheeks. Plus, if you put it on her skin right before you breastfeed, it will act as a moisture barrier if any milk sprays on her. Its also totally natural so you don't have to worry about chemicals or anything like that.

Huh. I heard that for nipples but I always just used my own milk at each feeding and never had an issue. I didn't really think about using the lanolin for the baby.

Aquaphor works well too! It's not quite as thick as lanolin. Eucerin makes it.
