Default after a bad bite -- how do you heal up?

My daughter bit my nipple really badly a few days ago, I think because she's getting her last set of molars in and seems to be having some teething issues. She hasn't bitten again, but that nipple is still really sore: it was a fairly deep bite, broke the skin and looks kind of scary, like a little vampire hole in my nipple. She has supersharp canines. I'm trying to make myself nurse on that side sometimes too, because I know it's not a good idea to risk getting clogged ducts. I remind her to be gentle and open wide, which she is pretty good about. But it still hurts! Any advice for how I can get it to heal up quicker, and how to cope in the mean time?

I just kept putting lansinoh on it, and made sure I fed him on the hurting only for nourishment and not for comfort nursing unless it was at night time which he won't bite me. Mine healed within a few days.

    ouch!
there is some good info about treatment in the middle of the page.
you might watch close for thrush also because of the broken skin.
if it doesn't get beter see your doctor.

I found that I had to change positions until I found one I could "tolerate" while she was nursing...

    Hi emilyw,
These two links have some suggestions you might try, too:

    Hope you feel better soon!
