    Default Jarred strawberries and corn?

DH came home with some "new" Gerber jarred foods. One is bananas and strawberries. The other is corn and sweet potato. Both are stage 2 for 6mos and up. DD is almost 9 mos. I thought strawberries and corn were foods you should wait to introduce. Am I remembering wrong? Is it ok to give DD these? She hasn't had a problem with any of the foods we've given her and no allergies in our families.

Oh and he also bought a Stage 3 dinner that has whole cooked peas in it (along with small chunks of carrot and potato). Aren't whole peas too big for her yet? She has 4 teeth (2 top, 2 bottom) and does "chew" things like her puffs. I just worry about her choking on a pea!

The usual recommendation for strawberry is for after 1 year because strawberries can be allergenic.

No clue why baby food companies put strawberries in foods intended for younger babies.

Because its Gerber and they simply do not care enough to THINK about what they are doing with their products. Corn and Strawberries are both allergens. Gerber's products are no exception. I have yet to hear of Gerber removing the allergen from the items

I'm still struggling to figure this one out! We like to have some of the 'baby" snack type things on hand for DS for in the diaper bag or when he's going to my moms (so that she doens't give him cookies and other junk we don't feed him), and it's somewhat a challenge to find toddler things in the baby food isle that DON'T have strawberries! (ds is allergic)

AT that age my kids were doing mostly table foods.
I'm sure the peas would be ok.
if your worried about choking take a 1st aid course of cpr course.

Try other parts of the supermarket - there are lots of things that make good snacks for toddlers in the regular cookie / cracker part of the store, as well as things like dry cereal and cereal bars.

I also think corn is a bad idea at that age. Grains are very difficult for LO's to digest and corn is almost always genetically modified.

My mom says frozen peas were my brother's first food.

We've been doing this more and more lately. I liked the toddler cereal bars for their size, but now DS can easily eat a whole ceral bar
