Default HELP! Breastfeeding and the flu

DS has the flu he's thrown up 4 times now so I called the doctor. He said use pedialyte in very small amounts, water, the BRAT diet and no milk. I always thought bf'ing thru sickness helped. The receptionist (who happens to be my gramma ) said no bf'ing/no milk was the same thing because mlk turned to a solid in the stomach. Help!! I can't let my baby starve until he's better and I don't want my supply to go away either!!

Happy for the most part, just keeps throwing up, and he's hungry so i've been giving him small pieces of toast, he wants to guzzle down his water but last time he did it made him sick again so now he's just mad and tired lol

That's what I was thinking...some kind of bug. He has no fever I've been checking so often again he knows how to work the ear thermometer himself

yea With the flu you run the fever..
anybody else in the family sick?

I would nurse as much as toddler is willing.
    offer water too!
And I think giving bland things like toast is a great thing.
When they get the dry heaves thats bad!

My oldest always stops eating when he is sick and he is down much longer then my younger ones
they keep eating! At least drinking.
We do let them have clear pop when they are sick, that and juice popcycles.

DH and I both felt a little quesy this am but it could've very well been from how we were woken up (which reminds me i need to go toss the comforter in the wash ). Yeah i'm not gonna deny my little man the one thing that is offering him comfort right now, i just can't it breaks my heart when he's so sad.

    lol
    that was my easter lol
    I heard roup-roup.....
great I just didn't hear that.....
So I had to get up and see who it was
And it was my 11 year old.

He threw up in the trash can that I keep in the hallway for throwing up in.

    Yeah William
He was the only one that threw up that time.
My 6 year old acted funny for 2 days but he never threw up!

Keep nursing Meg. Its the perfect food for him right now. My guess is Rotavirus, like I said, its spreading at epidemic rates in the Northwest right now.
