Question not opening wide.. and naps

My lo from day 1 has been an awesome "rooter", the LC at the hospital asked if she could stay to teach the other babies. So she has always opened her mouth super wide when it came time to eat. But the last few days she hasn't been. She will know it is time, but when I put my nipple on her top lip she only opens her mouth a little and tries to latch on. I can usually pull away first, but when she does succeed, lets just say... ouch! I have tried pushing on her chin a little when she is trying to latch, but that just makes her mad. Help!!

    and...

During the day lately, she has been so curious that she doesn't want to fall asleep. She gets herself to the point where she is so overtired that she just screams and screams until I have her in the perfect position and she falls right asleep. She is 6 wks, and sleeping for a 5 hour period at night, so that is no problem. It is just during the day.

Ok so when you present the breast, offer it to her a little high. So she can see it but the nipple is headed towards the space between the nose and upper lip. Let her root around for it more.

Do you ever do any baby led positioning? I found this really educational:

If baby is distractable during the day, retreat to a dark and quiet area before attempting to latch.
