I am new to this forum and thank anyone in advance for reading & answering my questions.
First, how many days / weeks is it ok for a baby to go without gaining any weight? She has gained 1 ounce in two weeks. She is very active, still has wet diapers, poos every day. She weighed 6 pounds two ounces at birth and now weighs 13 pounds 7 ounces.
Second, does anyone have any tips for getting their baby to eat on the "bad side" My baby will only eat on my right side when asleep or half asleep.
Third, because of her health issues and reluctance to eat (see below), I nurse her down for all naps and sleep. She can't go to sleep otherwise but it is the only way I can get her to eat reliably. She hates eating when she first wakes up. Any suggestions on how to break this habit?
Fourth, at six months how fragile is my milk supply? Can I go a week without pumping without jeapordizing it to see if my baby turns it around on her own?
I have always had a very challenging time breastfeeding my daughter. She has been exclusively breast milk fed for several months - sometimes breast sometimes bottle. She got very bad food allergies after her 2 month shots and has been a reluctant eater since. Things have gotten better although she still has reflux (she is on Zantak). She HATES to eat from my right breast; she will only do it when she is half asleep. I cannot get her to eat in an upright position. I pumped 6-7 times a day for months because since she is now allergic to formula I have been paranoid about my milk supply. I decided 10 days ago that I would slow it down and stop the pumping / bottling (because she hates to eat from the bottle). For the first week I pumped a few ounces a day, yesterday and today I am not pumping.
I desperately want to stop pumping (at least most of the time) and that is why I want to know about the weight gain.
Thank you everyone!
