    Default water?

This may not be the right place, but when can LO have water?

As he gets older my pumping has gone down so I was wondering if it's okay to give water in a sippy cup to a 6 month old when he eats mid-day. He would drink BM and nurse the remainder of the day (totaling 6-9 bottles or nursing sessions)

    Thanks

    Hi,

My son is 7 months old and I give him a sippy cup with water when I am giving him solids. I don't do it to replace bfing but to get him some practice with a cup. I was told it is ok to give up to 4 oz. of water to our lo a day.

I believe at 6 months you can start water but no more than 4 ounces a day. You don't want to replace bm with water. You might search kellymom.com. That is where I saw the info.
