    Default Taking Tamiflu

I was just prescribed tamiflu, but after reading the warning labels, I do not know if I should take it. Is tamiflu safe for breastfeeding?

In Medications and Mother's Milk, it says that at a dose of 75mg twice a day, the estimated amount transferred to the milk is 0.5% of the maternal dose, probably not high enough to cause any problems for baby. The CDC approved its use by breastfeeding mothers.

All medications say not to take them if you're breastfeeding. It's to protect the pharmaceutical companies from lawsuits.
