Default Less sleep during growth spurt?

My LO is 12 weeks and so it's about time for another growth spurt. She's also been sleeping less the past two days - cutting her naps short, mainly - so she's only been sleeping about 10-12 hours/day. I know they can be fussier, but do babies generally sleep more or less during a growth spurt?

my ds tended to be more wakeful for a few days/nights then sleep for (slightly) longer periods once the growth spurt passed.

DS always ate a bunch for a couple of days and slept less, then crashed for a day or two.
