Default Does Gabe *need* solids right now?

Gabe (9 months old yesterday) is totally just nursing. Like 100% of the time. In light of the burn incident, all beginnings of solids were put on hold. Is this okay for him to be nursing full time? Thankfully he's nursing almost as often as he was before the burn, I just don't want to be gipping him of important nutrients or anything else. Hopefully just nursing IS okay, because he's showing no interest whatsoever in anything else. Thanks for the help ladies

At this point, solids are just for fun/getting him used to different textures...so no, he does not "need" them. Keep up the good work Mama!

Your milk will be what he needs most nutritionally until 12 months.

I hope you guys are doing good

your question is answered just wanted to
evan is 9 months and i can't imagine going through what you two endured! he DOES like to eat/play with finger foods but sometimes i wonder the opposite- whether or not they get in the way of him not nursing enough. I'd say you are doing an amazing job.

I would agree Sha, that he doesn't NEED solids right now...but if it were ME, I'd still continue to offer them. Because after a year, he is going to need some sort of supplemental foods for nutritional purposes and if he hasn't any practice with them, he may not be all that willing to accept them, KWIM?

So, I wouldn't force them now or even be worried...but I'd still continue to offer them.

    Just my $.02 FWIW.

Thanks guys He cries when solids are even offered so I stopped offering last week. I don't want to cause problems, kwim? We'll just keep nursing and hope he'll eat solids when all of this drama is over

Adeline (paint-the-moon's dd) didn't start eating solids until around 18 months. They tried, and kept offering, but she wasn't interested. She is thriving!!!!! I woudln't worry about it!
