    Default Chatting while nursing

This has been happening for a couple of days now...mostly in the morning feedings. He's 11 weeks old and he has plenty of wet and dirty diapers during the day...the thing is, it is really difficult to re-direct his attention to eating sometimes, so this makes for longer feedings and sometimes me wondering if he ate enough.

    Has this happened to anyone?

    TIA

yes, dont worry much, my 3-month old still does it, i think its just funny and just give her as much time as she needs to feed.

my little one is 8 months and does this. She does it mosty in the mornng also. She will start to nurse then stop look at me smile and start jabering or giving my raspberries and she finds it quite amusing. I try not to encourage her, but I can't help but to think she is cute sometimes. One other thing she does that is a little wierd I guess & a little funny, during this time, especially after my let down when she comes off she will put her hand up to my breast as if trying to stop the milk and then examines my breast.

I agree that it is the most adorable thing...however, I worry about him eating enough b/c sometimes, once we're done, he'll stick his hand in his mouth and that makes me think he's still hungry. Should I worry?

my dd does this sometimes (and she is 6mo old). I bought her a nursing necklace, and that seems to help her with longer, consistant, feedings.

Here's a good page from kellymom.com about distractible babies:

Personally, I would really only worry if the diaper output is insufficient, though.
