I'm dealing with some issues that I really would appreciate your help with:
My DD is 4 weeks old and for the past 2 weeks she's been feeding quite frequently and hardly sleeping. During the day she might sleep for 30 min here and there, then want to feed, then within an hour, feed again, etc , etc. She hardly sleeps during the day (she'll take perhaps two to three 30min-1 hour naps), but at night she might go for longer 2 hour stretches.
With this frequent feeding, I don't think there's enough time to make more milk for her. My breast feel quite soft throughout the day. When I put her to my breast she will drink for a few minutes and then start to get frustrated , pull on the nipple and stretch it, cry, squirm, open her mouth as if she wants more milk etc.
Am I making enough milk for her...it doesn't feel like it. My doc suggested that I supplement with forumla.
Could this be a growth spurt...but do they last this long??? ...it's been 2 weeks like this with the frequent feedings?? Please help!
Are her frequent feedings not giving me enough time to make more milk for her?
She seems to have the right number of soiled and wet diapers, and she has gained a little more than a pound in the last for weeks.
Very worried here.....
