Default let downs when nursing and pumping????

Everytime I nurse or pump, I only have one let down each time. Am I suppose to have more than one during nursing or pumping? And when I do get them, it takes a minute or two for the baby to nurse or to pump before I have one. Sometimes when my LO sleeps for a while and wakes up really hungry, she gets really mad because she has to wait for a let down. Does anyone else have this problem and is there a way to make myself have more let downs and have them faster? Please help!

What worked for me during pumping was to think about my LO nursing and to actually imagine I was having a let down. Worked almost everytime. With nursing, sometimes my LO would have to work really hard to get a let down for like a minute or two. But he eventually got used to it.

Imagery and deep, relaxing breaths often work.
