    Default pain when pumping

Today, I've noticed pain at the top (near the chest wall) and sides of my breast, when I'm pumping. It feels like an ache deep inside of my breast. Massage elevates the pain temporarily, as does lifting the breast briefly.

The baby doesn't have any white spots in his mouth or anything, and my nipples are not sore. Is this thrush..?

Side note: The pain all but disappeared when I stopped pumping, though there is an ache on the side of the breast.

Editted to add: And now, 5 minutes later, the pain is gone! What the heck?

    Ouch!

Dashboard, was the suction to your pump turned up fairly high? Were your breasts very full when you started pumping?
