    Unhappy How long?

My baby was just past 6 months when I quite pumping for 2 weeks, and now that I have decided to relactate I was wondering how long it might take? What should I look for day to day? I was pumping 20-24oz in 4-5 pumps before I stopped. Now 2 weeks later I am getting 10-15cc a pump going into 36 hours of pumping every 2-3 hrs.

What kind of pump are you using, and how often are you pumping? Does your baby nurse at the breast at all?

How much time it takes to relactate varies from mother to mother. Renting a hospital grade pump can make a huge difference. Some mothers find that they are able to express more milk by hand expressing after they are done pumping. Some mothers use herbal and/or prescription galactogogues to increase their milk supplies faster. Check out the sticky at the top of this forum for more ideas.

There are a lot of successful relactating mothers on this board. I am sure some of them will share their experiences with you.

I wish you all the best!
