    Default sushi ok?

    hi,
does anyone have any info about whether it is OK to eat sushi while breastfeeding? (as opposed to during pregnancy)
    Thanks!

It's fine as long as you 1) watch what fish you're eating (avoid those with higher mercury levels) and 2) make sure the place is impeccably clean and uses super fresh fish. You don't want to expose yourself to any nasty food poisoning. Otherwise, enjoy!

I've been happily enjoying sushi while brastfeeding - but decided that I feel most comfortable limiting how much tuna I eat. And because we know that DS has food allergies, I am avoiding all shellfish.

This is from the first site you posted, lsksam.

"So here is my list of safe fish:

    Summer Flounder
    Wild Pacific Salmon
    Croaker
    Sardines
    Haddock
    Tilapia "

Do you or anyone else know if Wild Alaskan Salmon is a good one? I always heard it was and recently bought several cans since it is hard to find where I live. I love the stuff.
