    Default How much solids

How much do you usually give your baby when introducing solids. I've been offering her about a little more than a tablespoonfull of rice cereal for about 2 weeks, once a day. She still seems to want more when we are done, but I top her up with nursing, she also has about 4 gulps of water to wash down the cereal. Is this okay? I wanted to try sweet potato next. Am I feeding her enough solid or should I feed until she refuses anymore?

I have this same question.... However, I'm on the other end of the spectrum:
Tonight I fed my 6.5 month old 2T green beans mixed with 1oz bm and a touch of cereal AND 2 ice cubes of sweet potato mixed w/ 1oz bm. That's a lot more that they are suggesting on the link above. He seriously would just keep eating though. He loves the stuff. Am I feeding too much at this stage in the game? My baby still nurses 6 times a day and I haven't really noticed a change even though he's devouring his solids. I guess I could probably get one more nursing session in if we didn't serve dinner. He is getting abt 2 oz of bm mixed with his solids. Does this sound okay?

I'm feeding less than what they suggest at the link I posted, b/c we just started solids. At the end LO always cries wanting more but I nurse him a little or just give him a sippy cup with EBM and that seems to make him happy. My ped said that solids should not replace nursing at least until he is one. The example he gave me was if I nurse him 7-8 times per 24 hours (which I do) and he still seems hungry than I should increase a little in solids but to be very careful b/c sometimes the baby likes solids a lot and they don't have nearly as much nutritional value as BM does.

How many times do you nurse your LO?

I nurse him 6 times a day with his solid meal falling at dinner time.
