    Default Breast are sore

It has been over three weeks since K stopped BFing. We were down to just night & morning feedings. For a few days I pumped & did some manual expressions, but not too much. I hadn't done anything in the last week and today by breasts hurt. I think I am going to pump to see if I can help relieve them, but I want my body to learn not to produce milk. How much longer should I express so that I don't end up sick, but that my body learns to stop making milk?

Try pumping/hand expressing JUST enough to feel comfortable. You don't want to overstimulate, that will just encourage your body to make more milk. So, my suggestion would be to pump enough so that you are comfy. Use ice for swelling and pain...HTH!!!
