    Default confused about eggs

My LO is almost 15 months and we just started to give him eggs. I was told by a couple of people that you shouldn't give them eggs until their two but I also read that it's safe to give it to them. So is it safe or not?
    Thanks

I think people wait about a year to give egg whites, but egg yolk is okay pretty early on.

I'm sorry to hijack, but I have a related question. What about things like pancakes? I thought about letting him have part of one (he eats toast) but wasn't sure about the egg thing.

    Eggs are highly allergenic.

The egg white is the most allergic part.

Introducing egg yolk is often between 9 - 12 mo.

Egg white (or whole egg) between 12 - 24 mo.

One source here. Another source here.

There is some variation in recommended ages - but from what I've read whole eggs is pretty much after 12 mo.

IMO - cooked egg in something like french toast or pancakes or other baked goods should follow the general egg introduction guidelines.

I would think the same B/C when someone is allergic to eggs they wouldn't eat these things either

Yep - DS is allergic to eggs (and cow milk, tree nuts, peanuts, sesame & cinnamon).

We do not eat ANY foods that contain any egg products - even if it is "just" the glaze on a bread or used to seal things like potstickers.

my lo has been getting foods cooked with eggs for awhile now - since around 10 months or so. I didn't know otherwise - oops! She's been fine. Just gave her scrambled eggs this weekend at 11.5 months and we're good. Just FWIW.

Thanks. He has eaten eggs twice and he has loved it. He also hasn't had a reaction so I'm think he's ok.
