    Default Need ideas for 10-month-old

Please help! I have a10-month-old (as of today ) who is doing mostly BLS with great success. He eats a wide variety of foods and has no allergies. Here are some of the things he eats--I'm bored with the same old things and need some new ideas.

    turkey
    chicken
    plain whole-milk yogurt
    blueberries
    banana
    avocado
    apple
    pear
    oatmeal (regular)
toast with cheese or olive oil spread
    broccoli
    carrots
    egg yolks

I'd really like to try cottage cheese, and I thought that once he did well with yogurt, cottage cheese would be ok. I just read a chart on kellymom, though, that had it listed in the 12-18 months section (yogurt was 9-12 months). Does anyone know why the difference? I guess I just assumed that because they're both cultured it would be ok.

    Any ideas will be appreciated!!

    zucchini
    squashes
    kiwi
    peaches
    cheese
    baked apples (makes them softer)
    watermelon (this if a favorite!)
    potato (reg. and sweet)
    spinach

i'm sure i'll come up with more...

Thanks! I'm also looking for things that are especially high in fat. He loves cheese and yogurt and olive oil spread, so I make sure he gets these daily, but I feel like I'm always offering the same things.

you can add olive oil to all his veggies, i do it all the time. it makes them moist and offers him some good fat. i give james pasta, he loves it. sometimes i melt some american cheese and mix it and other times i just mix it with olive oil.

A few things my DS (who is 4 days older) loves:

mini potato or sweet potato wedges
lightly roasted veg fingers (carrot, parsnip, squash etc) - extra oil
rice pasta with a sauce of pureed veg, beans, etc or dhaal
dry cereal (cornflakes, rice and millet flakes)
byriani - rice or millet with various veggies, beans and a little turmeric (it's very messy)
    cubes of tofu
polenta/cornmeal fingers with veg/lentil etc added

I was going to make some avocado and rice balls or mini burgers or something, too.

Here are a few off the top of my head -

    Tofu
Mango (I buy frozen and let it thaw then cut into small pieces)
    Grapes (peeled and quartered)
    Spinach

High Fat I do cheese everyday (if my ds eats nothing else he will eat cheese), avocado, meat. I have not tried cottage cheese but its on our list for 8 mos and up from our pediatrician assuming he has handled other dairy ok. I would go ahead and try it. I think we will try soon as well because my ds is not a fan of the yogurt for some reason.

Thanks, everyone! I knew I could get answers here!!

Cottage cheese is on the list for today. We'll give it a whirl since yogurt has gone so well. And I haven't had polenta in a long time, so we'll try that too.

I've never had tofu. I've seen it in the store, so I know where to find it, but is there any preparation needed, or do you just feed it from the package? I'd love it if he liked it; it sounds like it's great for you.

    And watermelon sounds good!!

I give DS tofu cubed straight out of the packet, add it to his pasta sauces, or grill or fry cubes of it. You can mash it to add to avocado and rice balls. Anything really!

Ok, another tofu question. I looked at the tofu in the store today and wanted to buy it, but I saw a note that said to keep it in water in the fridge, and I wanted to ask more about it before I bought any. Just a little water, enough to float it, etc?
