I found the methods for dealing with plugged ducts in these articles useful:

    http://www.lalecheleague.org/NB/NBMarApr06p68.html

http://www.thebirthden.com/Newman.html in the article "Blocked Ducts and Mastitis"

Wearing bras with underwire used to cause plugged ducts for me. It may be necessary to switch to nursing bras.

I've never found a pump to be very effective at getting a clog out, maybe it you tried to remove some milk right before nursing with hand expression or pumping that would help your LO pull it out. When I have a clog I put ice packs on as much as possible, but a warm compress on right before nursing. I also take 600mg of ibuprofen. If it's peristent I take Lecithin, it's a supplement that seems to help with chronic clogged ducts. Could you ask your LO to try to suck longer on that breast to help you feel better?
