Default Is pumpkin a fruit or veggie?

I am assuming pumpkin is a veggie. So, is it okay to serve our LO pumpkin from a can? Should I wait for when she can have spices?

Thanks getting ready for week two and trying to decide sweet potatoes or pumpkin....LOL

I forgot how much I love making baby food. It has been since ds and when I can make 7 jars of squash for $.30 each vs $.55 is great.

I get the 100% pumpkin from a can and give that to M. My mom is a pediatric feeding therapist, so I trust her when she says it is ok!

Pumpkins and other similar gourds are *technically* fruit. Just like tomatoes. You can tell by the seeds.

^Yup. The difference between a fruit and vegetable is a fruit has seeds inside it (or on it, like strawberries). So peppers, cucumber, tomato, squash etc are fruit.

I would just bake the sweet potato until very very soft and add butter or coconut oil . The fat helps to assimilate the nutrients.
