Default To Poop or not to Poop....that is the question

    I'm new here.....could use a little support.

My 4 month old, Owen, is EBF and hasn't pooped in 7 days. He is completely content and isn't showing any signs of being bothered.....but I'm bothered. Anyone have advise or have had this happen?

At a certain point, it is normal for the poop frequency to slow down. As the baby's digestive system matures, it becomes more efficient and almost all the components of your milk get used up, leaving very little waste.

My pediatrician said it was normal for a breastfed baby to go up to a week with no poops. After that, her advice was to give a little prune juice and to see if that got things moving.

So long as your baby seems happy and is not straining to poop or seemingly in pain when trying to poop or pass gas, I would not worry.
