Very normal. Babies eat on their own schedule. My 7 month old still nurses every 2 hours during the day, and I know lots of other mom's on this forum have older babies that nurse as frequently.

I think the longest my DS has gone in the daytime is 3 hours. He's a nosher

    Thanks

My son just went to the pediatrician 2 days ago and he has tripled his birth weight He definitely doesn't miss a meal.

Both my dd's did this, too. Glad about the weight gain - congrats on a job well done, mama!

If you are interested, I just read a good explanation of why this is in Breastfeeding Made Simple. It has to do with storage capacity (not to be confused with production). ``

Absolutely normal. My 9-month-old sleeps all night, but nurses every 2-2.5 hours during the day when I'm home.

DD is about 7 months old and most of the time nurses every 1-2 hours during the daytime although it's usually closer to 1 hour and about every 2-3 hours at night again usually more times 2 hours than 3.
It's totally normal. Just remember that every baby is different!

Nursing about more than just hunger and transferring calories

My 13-month-olds deal with life so much better when they're allowed to nurse every few hours, or whenever they want

Your baby might just like the comfort and closeness, in addition to the calories....
