    Default Baby-led solids/weaning food suggestions?

My brain hurts My 8 mo old has barely had any solids, but he's showing signs of rejecting the spoon already. He's definitely hungry for food, and is ~25 lbs. I'd like to get into solids, but I seriously forget how I got my toddler to eat food!

This time around, I think we have to do BLS/W. We've tried bananas, I have done baked sweet potatoes, he didn't like avacado, I haven't found a soft enough pear

What else do you suggest I try? I just need suggestions for a tired mommy brain so I don't give him something he's too young for, or forget something obvious to try! Thanks

    Some ideas:

    avocado
    banana
    sweet potato
    butter nut squash
    pears
    green beans
    broccoli
    O cereals (like cheerios)
puffed cereals (puffed rice or others)
pasta (we did rice pasta because we were waiting on wheat until after 1 year)

cut foods into frenchy-fry sized pieces, or a piece about the size of baby's fist; some food (like broccoli) natually have a "handle"

    fruits - I did raw

veggies - I steamed until soft enough that I could eat them without using my teeth

Is 8 mos old enough for cereal, like cheerios? I feel like DD couldn't eat stuff like that FOREVER

Thank you so much, my brain gets fried trying to feed my 2.5 yo something, anything, that she'll eat!

Does he have a pincer grip?

I tested lots of cereals by putting a piece on my tounge and seeing how quickly the cereal would dissolve without chewing.

You can also soak cereals in a little EBM to soften them up.

Ooh, good idea. He does do pincher. Heck, he's almost walking so I guess "crawling with belly off the floor" is covered, too.

I'm thinking Joe's O's seem a little crunchier than Cheerios. I'll have to compare ingredients.

Poor kid, lazy mama the second time around didn't get him eating as early as sissy...
