    Default General question on frequency

    Hi ladies,
My baby is 5 mo. old. He seems to feed every 2-3 hrs, even at night. Well, it is a little bit better at night but not too much. He seems to eat at 7:30 PM, mid night, 3-4 AM and then at 7 or 8 AM. Is this normal?

Sounds almost like my dd2 routine before the holiday. I would say it is normal. I have heard from other moms their older babies did or still do nurse every 2 - 3 hrs.

Ds ~ Xander 3yrs aka Xaxu
    Dd2 ~ Bailie 1yr aka Dede

    Still going 14months later.

MY DS is 5 months today and he is on the same schedule you just described. I guess it is pretty normal. I have to wake him up for the 11PM feeding, if I don't he wakes up at 2 AM and then 5 AM. I co-sleep and that seems to help me sleep a little more while he nurses.

Sounds normal to me. In fact, I think DS probably had another feeding in there at night at that age, too.

My 5 month old does approximately the same (although his last feed is earlier and he gets up earlier). Our ped says he should only be waking once a night (where do they get this info??) but that's clearly ridiculous.

It sounds perfectly normal to me.

Sounds like my 4 month old daughters schedule...

-between 7-8:30pm I feed her and she goes to bed
-she wakes to eat between 12-2am, again between 4-5, and again at 7am

As long as your baby is eating well and getting enough milk.

    Thanks for all the responses!

yeah, his pediatrician said that he shouldn't be up so much but from your responses, I can tell she is dead wrong.
