I saw the doctor and she prescribed a low dose antibiotic. She said it's what they give kids with it. I've only taken one dose of the eye drops. Emailed Ped it find out if it was safe to still nurse. Ahh, I hate this!

Breastmilk is a very soothing eyewash! It's always the perfect temperature.

    Yes, I used it.

I also used organic, unpasturized, raw honey (you can get it at most local health food stores). You mix the honey with warm water (I believe one TBSP honey with 1 cup of water) and use that to rinse your eyes. It actually does clear the pink eye up within a week...and there are no side effects...well, except for sticky lashes, sometimes.

I've heard also that breastmilk applied to a cut or scrape will help heal it.
    that's some potent stuff!

I've dropped EBM in my eyes 3 times and already feel better. I'm gonna hold off on the antibiotics for now and see how the breastmilk does. DS said his eyes felt "watery", so I've dropped him twice just in case. And DD and DH once. Of course I'm washing my hands like crazy, too! I'll update this post the next couple days.

I think it's gone. I felt a lot better yesterday. Not bad for less than 2 days! Considering the antibiotic drops had to be taken 4x's/day for 7 days! Unfortunately I already had my prescription filled. I'll just save it. At least I didn't have to worry about it passing through my breastmilk to DD. I'm still dropping EBM in about 4x's a day just in case.

You should definitely keep doing that for at least a week. No need for it to come roaring back.
