    Default breast pain

I have recently started having more pain in one of my breasts, the one that produces less. Actually it is the nipple where I am having the pain. My supply decreased a bit since my DS ws eating more solids, but they weren't agreeing with him, so I have backed off. He can nurse for a few minutes, but the longer he nurses the more painful my nipple gets. This has been going on for about 2 weeks. I am fine when he is not nusing. My nipple isn't cracked or anything, he is latching well. Any ideas on what could be wrong? Thanks.

Could you have thrush on that side? The pain usually gets worse as the feed goes on.

Well, I have been watching real close that he has a really good latch. It seems to have helped, so maybe it was his latch.

How old is your LO? When they are teething, they latch a littel diffrent and thats most of the times causes pain in the nipples.

He will be 6 mo tomorrow. We have been wondering if he is teething, but haven't seen anything yet.

when henry's teething i feel more soreness because he sucks differently.

it also could be thrush, that's a common cause when the pain starts after a period without any pain. you might want to check out dr. jack newman's info on thrush here: http://www.breastfeedingonline.com/newman.shtml

you have to scroll all the way down to "yeast/thrush"

    good luck!

Now that I think about it I do remember thinking it felt different recently. He doesn't have any teeth yet, and I can't feel any coming in.
