Is she engorged? That could be the cause of the sudden latching issue. Here's some info:

    Please keep us updated.

    Congratulations to your sister!

Well, heard through my mom that baby girl lost almost a pound. My sister has been having a lot of visitors so I haven't been able to talk to her. I know she went to the LC today, so hopefully she is back on track. Thanks for the help everyone!

ETA: Her milk is still not in as of this morning. Hopefully she got baby to BF and that is stimulating the milk.....

Just talked to her. Baby is not latching at all now, sister is pumping with a hospital pump every three hours, baby is getting formula.
Sister's milk still isn't in, she goes back to the LC tomorrow.

Pump more frequently than every three hours for optimum results. A new born will eat every two or so hours.

Hi Everyone! I wanted to give you an update. Milk is in today she was able to pump an ounce. She is able to get baby latched for a little bit, but then ends up pumping and giving her that. I am going over there today, and advice? I was going to tell her to just keep relatching her instead of giving the bottle.

yup counting wet diapars she can see how much milk baby is getting.
The more the baby nurses at the breast at this point the beter.
Has she thought about alternatives to the bottle?

so baby gets all sucking needs met at breast?
