    Default Nipple question

I'm 36 weeks pregnant. I breastfed my first child for 17 months with no problems in the nipple area. I noticed last night that one of my nipples has a red place on it that is possibly a sore. I think if I were to mess with it, it would probably bleed. That breast is also a little sore. Does anyone have any idea why this would be happening and what I can do about it? Now I'm worried I'll have problems nursing this one since this has happened before he's even born.

Wow. I have no idea what could cause a sore on your nipple while you are still pregnant, but I'm sure you don't want to start nursing while it's still there, if that can be helped.

I would check this out promptly with your O.B. and/or an IBCLC. If you get a diagnosis, could you post and let us know? This is a new one to me, and I like to keep learning.

I've nothing to add, except that I echo the PP.
