    Default glass breast shields?

has anyone heard of/tried using glass shields when pumping? did they work for you to reduce nipple soreness?

I have not used them, but I've heard of them. I thought they were made by Medela for an extra-extra large flange.

My IBCLC suggested rubbing olive oil on the nipples before pumping to relief soreness. It does help, but not so convenient for pumping away from home.

Thanks for the suggestion. I actually have already tried that and it made things worse--I got blisters all over the parts of the areola that were rubbing on the shield.

Medela makes them and my LC thought that it might be worth a shot as a last ditch effort to allow me to pump without pain. But they are 120 bucks each and require another pump, so before I try something that I am not sure will work I wanted to know whether they had worked for others, and what people had used them for.
