    Default Please Help

I have a six month old baby girl. Approx 4 weeks ago she started to have diarrheas. Before she would have BM once a week which I heard is OK for breastfed babies. Like I said, she started to have watery BMs every day. Sometimes even 2-3 times a day. I took a BM sample to my baby's doctor, they checked it and said there was blood in her stool. They also checked for any other possible problems and said there was no inflammation or anything bad going on. The doctor gave me EleCare for two weeks and told me to maintain my milk supply. Her BM got better. I've been on dairy/soy free diet for over a week now. I tried to BF my LO and few hours later she had a very watery BM. I am being very careful about what I am eating. I know it could take two weeks to clean out my system from any dairy but shouldn't there be any change?? I would love to keep on BFing but I also don't want her to have diarrhea's all the time. Has anyone experienced such a problem? She's been fine for 5 months. Why did start happening? If you have any ideas, please let me know.
    Thanks,
    Titi

I wish I had some advice, but it seems strange to me also that it would start happening at this age. I hope you find some answers- do you have a lactation consultant you can talk to?

Is there anything else in her diet that has changed? Is she on medication or any solids? How about you?

Diarrhea can be due to a virus, a bowel infection, stress, anxiety or a food intolerance. Check out this link (save it in your favorites):

I would see a lactation consultant or your local la leche league leader for advice (http://www.kellymom.com/lcdirectory/index.html). Keep off the dairy for a couple of weeks until you see an improvement...

    Hope this helps!

I still wonder if there have been any changes in either you or baby's diets?
