Default Will my milk return after miscarriage?

    Hi folks --

I recently became pregnant with my daughter just two years old. I am a working mom, but she happily nurses 4-5 times a day. It is really our way to reconnect after separation and very special for both of us.

After being the Dairy Queen for the past two years, I had been noticing that my milk supply had been going down quite a lot -- almost as soon as the pregnancy started. Before DD would regularily emerge with a "milky face" --lately mostly sucking with a few swallows. DD has definately noted the change and become more clingly then ever.

Unfortuntely today I had a miscarriage at 6 weeks and I am wondering if my milk supply will return to its previous levels? Anything that I can do to encourage that? Would love to bring my milk back before we try again for another baby.

    Thanks for all your help.

I am sorry for your loss.

I have not been able to find anything on this in my resources. If this were just a slight dip and you still have milk, then it would follow that with 4-5 nursings a day your supply would increase.

Has it been the full 6 weeks that you have noticed the dip in supply?

    Can you still express milk?

Could you pump a couple of times during the day (or hand express)?

I will ask around on this for you.
