Default Lead me in to right direction

There was a thread about giving a 4month old soupy cereal. but I can't find it. Why would you do that?

No clue, except perhaps pressure from well intentioned grandmas or pediatricians who aren't up on the latest recommendations. Giving food won't help baby sleep through the night.

The AAP recommendation is breastmilk only until about 6 mo.

    Why delay solids

When will baby be ready for solids

I did it for a few days to help fill up the baby's hunger needs because my milk production had gotten so low. Formula/EBM wasn't an option because he refuses bottles and was too little to try out of a sippy cup. It really has no nutritional value- But he did enjoy eating it so it wasn't too bad during that difficult time.

I totally agree! Rushing solids is unnecessaty and can be linked to future food allergies!!! Breastmilk is all LO needs right now! Some babies are fine w/o solids even beyond 6 months! There really isn't any calendar deadline!
