    Haven't read all the messages, but I have already purchased a teething feeder. I was so excited to read the idea about mommysicles!!! How great! I haven't tried the tf yet, but will be sure to use this ideas. You ladies are so great!

    The basic idea of BLS is to offer LO food and let them decide when / what / how much they want to eat. Baby self-feeds. No spoons. No purees. Simple. Lots of mess - but that's part of the fun

    The guideline is foods cut into a "french fry" shape or about the size of LO's fist.

    And we started with foods that are soft enough for DS to be able to eat without needing much chewing. My test was if I could smoosh the food between my tounge & the roof of my mouth without needing to use my teeth.

    Good first foods include - banana, avocado, sweet potato
    DS1: bf 7/2006 -> 4/2009; multiple food allergies
