    Default Flange question

Ok so I went to the next size 27 about 2 weeks ago... everything seem to be going good... now the "ring" is back(that ring that looks like the skin on my nipple is get pulled off)...does that mean I need to go the the XL?

Does the ring stay there all day? Does it hurt? Is it from the outside or the inside of the flange?

    Maybe turn down the suction?

Well it's on the inside. It doesn't happen each time a pump, but at least once or twice a day. If I turn the suction down, then i get no milk... I have to have it at the max... Pumping never hurts me...

Are you really full when it does happen? I would say if it's not painful, then I wouldn't worry about it.

When this happened to me, I had a scab around parts of my nipple and it definitely hurt. Perhaps the ring is milk?

Do you see your nipple hitting the flange, or is there at least 1/4" of space on all sides? If you don't see it hitting there, it's not painful, and you aren't cracking I wouldn't worry about it.

Ok so this is strange... it's a brown ring like my skin, but my nipple doesn't even reach where the ring is...I dunno

Maybe since you pump much harder than the average it's the skin from your aerola on there? I know if I turn my pump up higher my aerola gets pulled in too...

I get this too. its not really painful just you can def feel it when you pull off flange! then there is a little aerola skin left over. i was using hthe 27 and went to the xl, its too big but its the most comfortable to me. when that ring gets a little bit sore i swich back to the 27 to put the ring in different place for a couple pump sessions
