Default do you still have a freezer stash?

I was wondering how long you kept a freezer stash of EBM?

    How much? Why?

Is it worth having a "just in case" freezer stash (for example if I got sick and couldn't BF or pump)?

Did you end up having to throw out frozen EBM when your LO weaned?

My DS is almost 15 mo. I'm contemplating dropping my very last pumping at work session, then using up the rest of my EBM freezer supply by sending it with DS to preschool. Once the freezer stash is all gone I'd switch DS over to another beverage at preschool. (DS is allergic to dairy so that's not an option).

I currently send ~ 6oz EBM to preschool and on a "good" day DS might drink about 3 oz. So I'm having a hard time staying motivated to continue pumping.

Also, early on I struggled with excess lipase issues so had to throw out quite alot of frozen EBM. I think I'd have a hard time going through that again, but am wondring if it would be foolish to not have a "safety net" in the freezer.

This is cross posted in the "breastfeeding beyond one" area of the forum here:

    Thanks!

Lynn... I responded on your other post. I am curious.... do you send EBM to day care in a baby bottle or sippy cup ? Until now (my LO is 13 month old), I have send in a bottle (EBM is too precious), but maybe I should switch

I send EBM in sippy cups - we're using the nuby cups without handles (because they have lids!). The preschool wanted the EBM sent in single serving sizes and labeled with DS name & the date. So I send in 3 sippy cups each with 2 oz EBM.

The preschool "required" the LO in the toddler class to be using sippy cups and not bottles ... but it turns out there is one litle girl who is currently getting formula in a bottle
