    Talking Top Ten while Pumping

Here is my top ten things to do besides staring at the drops in the collection container while pumping:

    1) Play/sing/tickle baby when he is awake
    2) Play checkers/connect four/sorry/card games with other kids
    3) Fold clothes
    4) Verbally direct kids in cleaning up
    5) Read to kids or self -- this really helps "get your mind off"
    6) Make a quick phone call
    7) Use car adapter (with hands free kit, only!!!) when on the go
    8) Help kids with school work.
    9) Dream about the lucious foods you get to eat with the extra calories needed!
    10) Read/post messages at this site!

(And I tried to post this before and hit something which made it disappear. I had to invent new ideas the second time I typed it, which tells me that there are many, many things that can be done besides staring at the drops collecting in the container!)

Oh boy, I've got a few too:

    1. Knit, knit, then knit some more
    2. Listen to NPR
    3. Read my favorite trash mags (People, US weekly, etc.)
    4. Catch up with SAHM friends on cell phone
    5. Rest my head on the shelves and nap (I pump in a storage room)
    6. Chat with my pump buddy, I used to share the room with a co-worker who pumped too
    7. Eat lunch
    8. NY Times crossword puzzle
    9. Fret over how much milk I've just pumped
    10. Relax and think of my LO!

I have actually been working on it off and on for years. I am almost at the ending now, but I started writing it by hand so I need to transcribe it onto my computer, and as I do that I keep wanting to change things! Right now it looks like it is turning into a young adult fantasy.
