    Default Preparing Ravioli

I found some great butternut squash ravioli that I think my son would love! (fairly low in sodium too) I tried to blend it up and it ended up like paste! ICK! I added breastmilk.
What happened? Any ideas how to make it smooth and yummy?

How old is your LO? Can you just cut the ravioli into pieces and let him feed himself? Or if the ravioli are very small give him the whole thing to gnaw on.

If you want to give your LO butternut squash as a puree - it's easy to cook. Either cut the squash in half & put cut side down on a cookie sheet. Bake at ~ 350 until soft (I think like 45 min or more). Or - peel & cut squash into cubes & steam until soft. Once the squash is cooked you can puree and add breastmilk if you like.

He's 10 months old and not too into finger foods. He eats them, but most of his food is fed to him. I have made him squash - all kinds - and he LOVES it. I just thought this might be a change of pace.

What about feeding him pieces of the ravioli using a fork?

    Yay!

Watch out - your LO might like eating off a fork so much that he may try to do it himself!

You probably will need to have an extra fork for your LO to hold. When we're doing meals it usually involves at least 3 forks - 1 for DS to hold (and these days he's getting pretty good at using a fork correctly), 1 for me, and an extra one when forks end up on the floor.
